New Vet Center Locations

To improve access to counseling for Veterans and service members, we are adding three new Vet Centers and six Vet Center satellite locations (Vet Center Outstations). Vet Center teams proactively work in the community, reducing barriers to care and improving access through one of four means:

  1. Utilizing one of 84 Mobile Vet Centers to conduct outreach and counseling
  2. Providing services in community-donated space as an access point
  3. Providing services in leased space where at least one full-time counselor works from a Vet Center Outstation
  4. As community demand increases, opening a full Vet Center with an average of seven employees

The new Vet Centers and Vet Center Outstations will be located in Arizona, California, Minnesota, New Jersey, Tennessee, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands.

Status of each of the newly approved Vet Centers and Vet Center Outstations is as follows:

Clarksville (TN) Vet Center
The former Clarksville Vet Center Outstation, previously managed by the Nashville (TN) Vet Center, will convert to a full-sized, independent Vet Center, staffed by a Vet Center Director, Outreach Specialist, Program Support Assistant, and three counselors. The location will remain at 141 Chesapeake Lane, Suite 101, Clarksville, TN 37040. Some in-person and virtual services are currently offered by Nashville Vet Center counselors as recruitment and onboarding for new employees occurs. Fredericksburg (VA) Vet Center
Fredericksburg was identified through projection models as having the highest amount of unmet demand in the country and is more than 30 miles from an existing Vet Center asset. VA will solicit for leased space central to the Fredericksburg community, providing accessible services to Veterans, service members, and their families in the greater Fredericksburg region. The Vet Center will be staffed by a Vet Center Director, Outreach Specialist, Program Support Assistant, and two counselors. U.S. Virgin Islands Vet Center
The former St. Thomas Vet Center Outstation, previously managed by the San Juan (PR) Vet Center will convert to a full-sized, independent Vet Center, staffed by a Vet Center Director, Outreach Specialist, Program Support Assistant, and two counselors. Leased space was awarded and the new Vet Center, located at 9164 Estate Thomas, St. Thomas, VI 00802, is planned to open by early summer 2024. In-person and virtual care are available at the existing St. Thomas Vet Center Outstation located at Medical Foundation Building, 50 Estate Thomas, Suite 101, St. Thomas, VI 00802 in addition to the St. Croix Vet Center Outstation, located at The Village Mall, Plot 113, RR02, Box 10552, Kingshill, VI 00850. Leesburg (VA) Vet Center Outstation
VA will solicit for leased space central to the Leesburg community, providing accessible services to Veterans, service members, and their families. The Vet Center Outstation will be managed by the Martinsburg (WV) Vet Center and services are currently provided in-person and virtually Monday through Friday through community-donated space at 751 E Miller Dr. SE, Suite E, Leesburg, VA 20175. St. Cloud (MN) Vet Center Outstation
A lease was awarded for the St. Cloud (MN) Vet Center Outstation located at 330 Hwy 10, Suite 101, St. Cloud, MN 56304. The Vet Center Outstation will be managed by the Anoka (MN) Vet Center and is anticipated to open at the beginning of 2024. Services are currently provided Monday through Friday through community-donated space at the St. Cloud City Hall, located at 1201 7th Street S., Room 110, St. Cloud, MN, 56301. Saipan (CNMI) Vet Center Outstation
VA will solicit for leased space central to the Saipan community, providing accessible services to Veterans, service members, and their families. This Vet Center will be managed by the Guam (GU) Vet Center.  Guam Vet Center staff will be providing outreach and counseling services at the Saipan VA Clinic at Marina Heights Business Park - Garapan, Medical Associates of the Pacific, MH-II Building Suite 100 and 206, Saipan, MP 96950-9998. Additionally, eligible individuals can receive services in-person or virtually Monday through Friday through the Guam Vet Center, 400 Route 8, Suite 301, Maite, GU 96910-5172. Sierra Vista (AZ) Vet Center Outstation
A planned lease contract award is anticipated by the end of 2023, followed by 8-10 months for buildout and a to-be-determined opening date is anticipated in 2024. Staff from the Tucson (AZ) Vet Center, who will manage the Vet Center Outstation, will be on-site every two weeks at the Vet Center Outstation providing in-person and virtual services in the meantime. Solano County (CA) Vet Center Outstation
The Solano County (VA) Vet Center Outstation will be located at 420 Executive Ct. N, Suite A, Fairfield, CA 94534 and is anticipated to open early 2024. Services are currently offered at the Concord (CA) Vet Center, 1333 Willow Pass Rd., Suite 106, Concord, CA 94520 and Travis Air Force Base, 690 Airmen Dr., Travis AFB, CA 94535 until the new location opens. Vineland (NJ) Vet Center Outstation
VA will solicit for leased space central to the Vineland community, providing accessible services to Veterans, service members, and their families. The Vet Center Outstation will be managed by the South Jersey (NJ) Vet Center, which currently provides services to the Vineland community four days per week at the Cumberland County VA Clinic, 79 W. In the coming years, VA will continue to expand the Vet Center program to meet Veteran and service member demand and provide local support to those who served.
